The 62nd FIP Ambassadors cup held on September 18-21 at Mashomack Polo Club, was a complete success and a wonderful experience for all participants.

 

Mashomack Club is locat62nd Ambassadors Cuped 90 miles north NYC and have 5 beautiful grass fields and one arena magnificently prepared for this occasion.
The weather was perfect for polo and the nature of the place with their trees changing color also collaborated to make this a spectacular event.

FIP Ambassador Bruce Colley, together with Mashomack Polo Club President Duke Buchan, and club members were able to mount 16 players with the best horses available in Mashomack and designed a spectacular agenda for total fun weekend and a way for international camaraderie.

On Thursday evening,  the first players meeting took place at the exclusive terrace of "The Carlyle Hotel", the chic spot in Manhattan. The Hotel hosted a welcome cocktail, accompanied by a brilliant red sunset.
On the first day of matches, the guests met at the Polo Club for lunch with beautiful scenery and at night, a fantastic gala dinner by "Berluti".

On Friday evening, Asado hosted by Bruce & Teresa Colley and Duke & Hannah Buchan at their beautiful home.

On Saturday morning, "Beretta" helped organized the “Sporting Clays Competition” , providing guns and gifts for the players an ending with a magnificent lunch.
On the evening , "Berluti"  underwrote the dinner and a shoe shine for everyone. Krug provided the wines & Champagne.

Sunday Awards Luncheon was Castello di Vicarello who designed and underwrote the lunch & wines.

16 players from different countries such as from Russia Mr. and Mrs. Huaco, from Brazil Mara, Victoria, Sylvio and Sylvio Jr. and Sergio Cardoso. From Germany the youngsters Filix and Moritz Gaedeke. From South Africa Wayne Hartley. From Mexico Giorgio Brignone and Octavio Bermudez. From USA, Patt Nesbitt, Ru Wesley, Joe Meyer. From Ecuador Teodoro Calle, and from France, Patrick and Mafias Guerrand-Hermes. Antoine Serval. Fathers and sons played together and demonstrated that the sport of Polo congregates family and friends and also promotes the integration. These are the ingredients that make this kind of tournaments a memorable one to players and spectators.

Everlands underwrote the entertainment tent, comfortable seating, food and refreshments for families and friends to watch, relax and enjoy the 12 polo games. "Scapa" provided teams jerseys, jackets and bags for 32 players.

Wesley Ru of Santa Barbara provided beautiful crystal momentoes.The club members had a fun weekend, and 16 new International polo friends.

All came to Mashomack Polo Club to be part of this unique experience.
