England - Charity Match at Ham Polo Club

Presentation Charity at Ham Polo ClubPrinces William and Harry supported this season’s charity match, held at Ham Polo Club – London’s last remaining venue – on 7 June. Their squad, Umbogo, took on Texan patron Alan Meeker’s Crestview Farm and, between them, a glittering array of polo stars lined up.


The princes had enrolled one of England’s top players, Satnam Dhillon, and, from the USA, Nicolàs Roldàn, who in 1998 was the youngest ever winner of the US Open.

Prince HarryFor Crestview, players included former 10-goaler Owen Rinehart. In the 16-goal match, Umbogo were ahead 4-2 at half-time, but Crestview Farm were still determined and went ahead 6-5 in the penultimate chukka. In the finals seconds, Roldàn equalised 6-6 and it was decided to call an amicable draw.
