Switzerland qualifies for the XIII FIP World Polo Championship
Switzerland secured its place in the XIII FIP World Polo Championship, to be held in Uruguay in 2027, after winning the Zone C Playoff held at Chantilly Polo Club, France.
The Swiss team completed an unbeaten campaign, winning all three of its matches against England, Italy and France to finish first in the final standings and claim the qualification spot for the World Championship.
The remaining positions were decided in a dramatic final round. England's victory over Italy left France, England and Italy level on points, with a penalty shoot-out required to determine the final order. France finished second, England third and Italy fourth.
The Federation of International Polo would like to thank the French Polo Federation and Chantilly Polo Club for hosting and organising the Zone C Playoff, as well as the teams and players from Switzerland, France, England and Italy for their participation and commitment throughout the competition.
With the European qualification stage now concluded, Switzerland joins the teams already qualified for the XIII FIP World Polo Championship in Uruguay.
