Official Announcement: Approval of AUP Proposal and Zone B Qualification for the XIII FIP World Polo Championship 2027

The Federation of International Polo (FIP) is pleased to formally announce that the FIP Executive Committee has reviewed and officially approved the proposal submitted by the Asociación Uruguaya de Polo (AUP) regarding the tournament framework and team participation for the upcoming XIII FIP World Polo Championship.
In accordance with FIP procedures governing World Polo Championships—which empower the Executive Committee to determine the framework, eligibility of teams, and handicap allocations—the Executive Committee has accepted AUP’s request to allocate two participating national team places to Zone B for the tournament.
Consequently, following the conclusion of the qualification pathway, Argentina and Brazil have officially classified and secured their places to compete in the Finals of the XIII FIP World Polo Championship.
The Championship will be hosted in Punta del Este, Uruguay, with the tournament finals scheduled to take place from February 4 to February 14, 2027, bringing the world's finest national polo teams together in an extraordinary setting.
FIP extends its appreciation to the Asociación Uruguaya de Polo, under the leadership of Dr. Alexis Guynot de Boismenu, and looks forward to a magnificent World Championship edition in Uruguay.
Yours sincerely,
Alex Taylor
Chief Executive Officer
